Regret does seem to be a real taboo and carries with it the added bonus of shame! Food for thought. If a mum expresses any regret at motherhood they are perceived as an unloving monster lacking the ability to fully love and women who may regret not having children fall into 'you only have yourself to blame' and you made a foolish decision category.
